About the artist

Landon Metz

Landon Metz (born 1985) is a New York-based contemporary artist whose practice spans painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Metz sources inspiration from his home state and the natural patterns and formations found in the rocks and immense, sweeping landscapes. His practice and works are defined by minimalist forms, along with the ability to imbue these limited abstractions with movement and dynacism. There is a sense of rhythm and repetition that is felt throughout his diptychs and triptychs, due to both the repetitive nature of the forms and patterns present in the paintings and the ways in which Metz operates using repetition in the creation of his works. Metz has shown his work in New York, Copenhagen, Milan, and Paris, and at institutions including Museo Pietro Canonica in Rome and the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn Harbor, New York.
